Pleomorphic adenoma in infancy

T. Stupp, C. August, H. Jürgens, H. Busse

We report on the case of a 14-year-old girl, who had been successfully treated 1989 because of B-ALL.

Since June previous year an increasing proptosis and space displacement of the right eye was noticeable. In the MRI-scan a contrast-positive polycystic expanding enlargement of the lacrimal gland impressed.

The tumor was completely excised by a superior orbitotomia.

Histopathological examination resulted a pleomorphic adenoma, with which a relapse of the B-ALL could be excluded.

In the world literature only three further cases are described since 1938, however without comparable medical history.
